Elinore Havers

Unusually for an author of pony books Elinore Havers did not write any continuing series. Instead all her books are stand-alone stories. The books are mainly classic pony plots or adventure/mystery types, although one book must have the claim to fame of being the only pony book written from a dog's point of view!  (Gay and the Ponies.) Although the stories will never set the world alight they are all extremely readable and usually quite heart-warming. Definite 'comfort reads.'

Most of her books were published as part of the Crown Pony Series, both in hardback and paperback. With one exception, they are all reasonably easy to get hold of.

She also wrote an adventure called Wigwam Island. I don't think this has any pony content however, although have not read it so cannot confirm.

Collectors Info:
These were mainly published as part of the Crown Pony Series by Lutterworth, first as hardbacks then as paperbacks in the same series. The paperbacks are more often seen than the hardbacks. A couple of the titles (Three Day Adventure and The Merry March Ponies) are slightly harder to find than the others. The only really rare one however is Pony Hunt. Most of the more common titles can also be found in the USA, although prices do vary a lot.
